Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are Open 24 hours. Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Austin peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Mike installed a 10βsub in my wife CRV and it slaps! He even got the speakers to produce better! I sent my friend over too him for some troubleshooting and Mike figured out the issue and got my friend banging too! Highly recommend.

I visited Safe and Sound today to get a quote on my sub & amp installation. The price given to me was so good i decided to get it done right then and there. Couple hours later, boom, car is bumpin!! I could not be happier with the price, the results, or the interaction!

The work he puts out of the garage at his house is nothing short of awful. I cannot believe I paid hard earned money for this. I have never seen such poor (workmanship). When I questioned him on it he kept deflecting or saying thatβs not what he had explained originally. For a $3000 install, I would think you would not try to secure everything with hot glue. Everything was hot glued, the sub box, the batteries, the speakers and the under-car light were all hot glued. I am not kidding. Not a single piece of wire loom anywhere but there must have been 5 rolls of tape strewn all under the hood and is wire everywhere! It finally set me off when I noticed that he had not cut off some zip ties under the car and I found the wiring to the under-car wiring was run under the rear suspension. There is no way I would have thought this I what I and for in advance but he just kept trying to explain it away. He even tried to tell it was my fault he wasnβt expecting me yet he wasnβt expecting me when he told me it was ready)after 10 days. I have since torn the junky box (and every thing else that he installed) out and will rebuild it myself because I canβt afford to pay to someone that knows what

Nothinβ but love for Mike & the crew. I drove all the way up to Austin from New Braunfels to get underglow lights installed on my Forte (βπ©ΈπΊ Red Wolfβ). After an unpleasant experience w/ a shop in Del Valle, I searched for techies on G~Maps who were in close proximity and came across Safe and Sound. There were others but something about them immediately stood out to me. Couldnβt pinpoint it initially, but when I arrived at the location, right away it became clear why this place is special (sacred even if I may say π€―). Mike offers great customer service & is a superb host! If youβve been to his business, youβll know exactly what I mean. π«‘ Heβs very patient & understanding w/ customers (I had a ton of concerns going into the process) and he addressed them all honestly and transparently without negative attitude. Never made me feel dumb ~ not once. His techy installed the under glow in less than 3 hrs and did a nice, clean job. The setting & amenities Mike provides on~site make time fly! βοΈ It was overall a wonderful experience and I felt very comfortable in that waiting room. π Iβm super satisfied w/ the work I got done ~ hence the 5 stars! If youβre looking for an unforgettable expe

I wasted my time and money going to Mike. He charged me $300 for labor and $400 for a βcustom boxβ. I had an audio expert look over his work and was informed Mike did a terrible job. He is not a professional. He jeopardized the safety of my passengers by not securing the passenger seat down properly while pinching wires under the seat frame. I have to take my new car to a body shop, because he cross threaded the seat mounting holes.
